Viewpoint - "Country singer and gay activist Chely Wright keeps the faith despite angry letters from churches " - VIDEO

Comedian John Fugelsang interviews Chely Wright, who two years ago became the first major country music artist to come out of the closet, a process she documents in the new film ''Wish Me Away.''

Wright tells Fugelsang about fans' reactions to her being gay and how coming out has impacted her creative process. She also talks about her Christian faith. ''I've received letters from churches since I came out that told me to stop saying that I'm a gay Christian, that they won't have it,'' Wright says. ''And you know what? They can’t take away my faith.''

She goes on: ''I believe that I was able to come out because of my faith. I believe I'm here because God delivered me from my darkest hour and said, 'Stand up. Stand up and talk.'''
